We're putting practice first.
Our philosophy.
What people do in practice is important. Without the right behaviours, all the knowledge in the world, and even the most meticulously planned structures, are useless. We need individuals that behave ethically, teams with psychological safety, organisations that live and uphold strong social values, and boards that fulfil their fiduciary duties. Such factors exert a greater influence on workplace performance and wellbeing, than laws, structures and processes. They require what we call, advanced leadership.
Our mission is to promote advanced leadership by rewarding people who learn from workplace practices. We review what people do in practice – and what they learn from that – as this gives a good idea of their behaviours, capability and understanding. We provide feedback and opportunities for continuous learning and improvement, leveraging morals-based ideas such as responsible leadership, ethical leadership and ubuntu. We believe we can positively influence workplace practice, leadership and governance.

Elevating standards and recognising achievements.
TheMRB Board acts as the custodian of our vision for better leadership, where those in power act more responsibly. We have chosen to achieve this by focusing on improvements in workplace training, which is typically unregulated, unorganised and non-transferrable. This situation is a significant disadvantage for those living with weaker education systems, most of which are in the Global South, where workplace training standards have tended to be lower. Much of work is, therefore, in the Global South. We want to help elevate standards and recognise achievements, many of which are secured in very difficult circumstances.
